Meyer Sound MG06 Used Line Array: What Buyers Must Inspect

Published 2026-10-18 · Meyer Sound · MG06

A used Meyer Sound MG06 line array can be a sound purchase for rental fleets and installers, but only if you inspect the cabinets as rigging-critical hardware rather than as ordinary speakers. Meyer Sound's self-powered approach means each enclosure carries its own amplifier and processing module, so start there: confirm the module belongs to that cabinet, check it powers up cleanly, and listen for fan noise, distortion or intermittent faults on every input. Then inspect the rigging — bent or elongated quick-lock pins, worn hinge slots, deformed frames and missing safety fittings are rejection points, because the array's load path depends on them. Look behind the grille for cone damage, water staining, corroded terminals and mismatched replacement drivers. Ask for service history and verify serial numbers before committing. A controlled listening test in a room you know reveals more than a bench check: a healthy MG06 should sound consistent from cabinet to cabinet.
